I originally designed this quilt for mother to make as her traditional grandma baby quilt for my niece. She was born in the winter and my sister wanted a cute penguin quilt. Counted Quilts are simpler than they look! They are made by piecing strips together and using quick corner triangles, or the "snowball method" for shaping. The pattern shows how many strips and pieces to cut using charts, and then a full page color picture "map" showing how the puzzle goes together using the alphabetically labeled pieces. It is really fun watching the picture come together strip by strip! The pattern comes with 3 sizes. Crib size, 36"x42", and alternate smaller 24"x28" and larger 48"x56". If you border the lap you can even use it for a twin bed. The instructions are for the quilt top only there are no finishing instructions on how to quilt your project.
