Pattern Details

This is one of those special quilts that designed and named itself. I was channel surfing and happened across a program explaining what a Jewish Chuppah is. It is the canopy covering underwhich a Jewish couple stands during their wedding ceremony. Although I am not Jewish, I think of it as the covering of God in the marriage for protection and peace. What a blessing to have a quilt to cover and warm me that represents the presence of God for protection and peace. Thus, Chuppah Shalom, Covering of Peace. Be at peace as you construct and use your Chuppah Shalom! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Ability to produce a consistent and accurage 1/4" seam Ability to press fabric without stretching or distorting it SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 59" x 59" before quilting

My mother taught me to sew when I was 8 - doll clothes by hand, then she moved me on to her old Singer. But it was Home Ec in Jr. High where I discovered that sewing was my "thing.". Throughout the years, I sewed clothing and made pillows and curtains and stuff. But quilting? Just the thought of cutting a beautiful piece of fabric into little pieces and sewing them together again seemed a little crazy to me. But when my first great-niece was born, I made my first quilt for her and was hooked! As a new quilter, I couldn't find designs that were easy enough, so, I got design software and started tinkering. Now that I am retired, my life is all about my DH and quilting. Thanks to Craftsy, I am able to share my designs and patterns with you. In addition to quilt designing, I stay busy in my guild, and have a quilting business: Quiltniques! My beloved longarm is named Margie and she works hard.
