Pattern Details

"Christmas Elves" is a quilt along that will create a holiday wall hanging. This little elf, who is painting the North Pole sign, and the three smaller, companion blocks are all included in the first pattern. There will be four main patterns, each containing an elf and companion blocks. When complete, the entire wall hanging will measure 29" x 33" before a border is added. Each of the block groups will show a North Pole elf at work. With a pretty border, any of the elf blocks could also stand alone as a cheerful, small wall hanging. This one measures 10" x 14". The applique blocks are easily made with fusible web applique and machine stitching stitching to hold them permanently in place. All applique templates are full size, as are the layout plans. The patterns for the pieced blocks include both paper piecing patterns and instructions for traditional piecing. One new set of patterns will be available every third Saturday, and the quilt along will conclude on October 14, 2017. For more information and details about the quilt along, look under the label, "Christmas Elves Quilt Along" in the column on the right hand side of my blog. When I retired from a lifetime of teaching in 2007, I was worried that I'd quickly get bored. That concern didn't last long at all. I was thrilled to discover that there really is life outside of the classroom. I spend parts of most of my days indulging in my favorite hobbies of quilting and sewing. I started designing patterns as an experiment, and no one was more surprised than I was to find that other people liked my little designs. I'm a teacher at heart, so I do try to write my patterns in such a way that beginning quilters can follow them. I include lots of details, photos, and little informative notes. I make myself easily available to my customers, and I respond to all questions as quickly and as thoroughly as I can. Contact Information: Blog:, Facebook Page:, Email:
