Eep! Eep! I designed this Cheerful Chimp applique pattern especially for beginners. You can make this! * The block is nice and big - 16 inches square! That means the applique pieces are nice and big - and easy to handle. * The edges are all straight lines or convex curves - the easiest curves to handle. You'll receive full-sized pattern pieces - nothing to enlarge or reduce. Though you can certainly do that if you prefer to make it larger or smaller. I also include a smaller version of the pattern (6 inches tall) for smaller projects. The pattern includes complete instructions with loads of step-by-step photos and links to video tutorials teaching you every skill you'll need to make this project. The instructions in the pattern are for a quick and easy machine applique technique that looks very similar to fancy needle-turn applique, but there are also links to videos showing you how to applique with fusible adhesive or use needle-turn if you prefer the look of those methods. With this single block you can make a wall hanging or pillow cover. Applique the design to a tote bag, a T-shirt, or anything else you can think of. You could also repeat the same block multiple times for an Andy Warhol-ish quilt. :-) Or you can sign up for the Safari Quilt Block of the Month Club. Every month for 12 months you'll get a new applique block pattern of an African animal, progressing in difficulty throughout the year until you're smack in the intermediate skill level. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY basic applique - large shapes, gentle curves SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS finished block is 16 inches square
