Send your trick-or-treater out in style with this cute little tote! Everyone will want one to bring home their Halloween sweet treats. Make just one pumpkin block and use the stitch-and-flip method to attach it and the framing strips and borders to the bag front. Fuse the pumpkin details in place for quick-and-easy assembly. A beginner with basic rotary cutting and piecing skills can make this bag. If you wish, you can assemble the block as directed for the tote, but then finish it as a small quilted hanging for your front door--the directions are included. Pattern includes full-size templates to trace for the pumpkin appliques. I am a published sewing and quilting author with several books and many magazine articles to my credit. My most recent book, How to Make a Quilt was published in August 2014 by Storey Publishing. I've written two other successful books for them-- The Quilting Answer Book and The Sewing Answer Book. I learned to sew from my great grandmother, two grandmothers, and my Mom when I was barely in grade school and I've been sewing ever since. I added quilting to my repertoire in the 1980s and worked for a major quilt book publisher as Managing Editor and then Editor-in-Chief for 5 years. Now I have my own business, designing quilts and tote bags and anything else that strikes my fancy. Go to to see my projects and whatever else I'm up to. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find something you'd like to make in my Craftsy store!
