PATTERN DETAILS

The center of the quilt is a traditional Triple Irish Chain pattern (directions are included in the pattern) and the border of the quilt is made of twenty eight embroidery blocks. The embroidery can be completed with just simple basic stitches. Straight stitch, stem stitch, French knot, and chain stitch are all that is needed. The pattern includes full size embroidery patterns for ten different blocks. You can choose the mix of these patterns to create the twenty eight border blocks. Four of these are set on point for the corners of the quilt. The designs include a fabric store, daycare, bed and breakfast, a feed & seed, church, school, quilt shop, and three different apartments in the village. There is also a design for a bird to quilt within the white space of the center of the quilt. Fabric requirements are: 1 1/4 yards for the outside chain 1 yard for the inside chain 1 1/4 yards for the center chain 2 yards for the center blocks background 3 3/4 yard for the background blocks in the border (total of 5 3/4 yards of background if you want to use the same fabric in the center quilt as you do for the embroidered border) The quilt is pictured as a full color and as a redwork style. Either would be great! SALE! SALE! SALE! In celebration of my grand-daughters birthday...all of my patterns are 50% until Monday, 4 October 2013. This discount is not shown within the price posted. Hi, do you love to create beautiful embroidered, quilted, crocheted or hand sewn items? Me too! I've been teaching quilting for the past 30 years and fell in love (seriously in love!) with crazy quilts just a few years back. My first book, Embellishing Crazy Quilts, contains dozens and dozens of seam treatment diagrams and embroidery designs. I also love to add silk ribbon and bead to my works. It became very frustrating as a teacher to reference good instructional material for silk ribbon embroidery and other techniques. So, I now design and create my own stitch guides, templates, and patterns. I hope you will find something here on my Craftsy site that you like. Some are free as instructional handouts...and some are for a minimal fee to offset the cost of my time and supplies. I truly hope you find all of these enjoyable!
