Every year in Homer Alaska we have a shorebird festival. People come from all over Alaska each year to participate in this festival. They enjoy viewing the birds, learning about their habitats, and taking some wonderful photographs of a variety of species of shorebirds, what fun! This festival inspired my new baby quilt design- Shorebird Festival. The quilt measures 38" x 47" with 12 nine inch blocks. A fabric chart is included with fabric suggestions for making this quilt. I used colorful pastel fabrics in a variety of colors that would compliment the shorebird theme. On this whimsical quilt, you will find sand dollars, seashells, starfish, and a variety of shorebirds. The patterns are easy to work with and the quilt could be made in a weekend. Make sure you have a color cartridge in your printer before downloading . Thanks for taking a peek at my shop, KinderGarden Designs. I love making quilts, but my real passion is designing them. Designing unique patterns that would appeal to the imagination of a child inspires me. I was in education for 17 years with a degree in early childhood education. I taught kindergarten for 10 of those years, hence the name KinderGarden Designs. I have a beautiful little granddaughter Sydney, who has inspired many of the quilts I've designed. I would love to see a picture of your quilt when your project is complete. It's fun to see the fabric patterns and colors that make the quilt uniquely yours. Vikki
