As a gift for a new baby, this quilt is destined to become a cherished keepsake or a practical gift that will be used for many years - first for baby, and later to keep a favorite doll warm. The pattern is for a basic version of the baby quilt pictured above. In the basic version, all twenty blocks are the same. Backed with flannel to make it warm and cozy, the quilt is machine pieced and hand quilted. In the slightly more advanced version shown above, a wider variety of fabric is used along with small differences in block layout. Also, the trapunto technique is used to accentuate the letters. Instructions for the variations are included at the back of this pattern. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Approximately 45 x 35 inches
