I have always liked creating things. I remember my mother sewing late in the night. I am one of nine children and mum would always be making new clothes, mending old ones or creating something that was needed for school. I loved to watch her at the machine, an old singer treadle, and she would talk about the fabric. I learnt to sew on that old machine. I love applique. The nuns who taught at my school insisted on the neatest most even stitches and I have carried their lessons with me and love hand applique the best. Watching the fabric pictures come to life is a joy. Quilting came about from a picture on a quilting magazine that I thought was really beautiful and from that moment I was hooked. Here was a hobby that combined my love of fabric and sewing and the possibilities are truly endless!
