Pattern Details

Ammonite Shell Silhouette pattern with templates and instructions. What are ammonites? Ammonites are believed to be the most widely known fossil and they are typically in this spiral form shell. They lived over 65 million years ago and became extinctalong with the dinosaurs. They belong to a group known as cephalopods such as octopus. squid and cuttlefish, etc. Many people use these fossils to make beautiful jewelry among other lovely things. This is not a "cut away the fabric" pattern like many patterns that look more like stained glass. This is easy and a lot less complicated! The Ammonite Shell Silhouette download is 11 pages and includes photos of the process. I have included a page of general tips that will help you through the process. Along with the 8 1/2" x 11" sized pattern (which you can enlarge to any size) you also get the pattern in the larger version to make this 14" x 16" or larger quilt. The larger pattern is made up of (4) 8 1/2" x 11" sheets that you tape together. Directions are included. Note: The last photo shows what you can do by changing the silhouette to a dark fabric and the background to a light! Cool! Pattern is for your own personal use. Please do not share this pattern. Thank you. A big thank you to Anne Buttrey and Cor for the suggestion and encouragement to make up this pattern!
