Pattern Details

The many triangles in this quilt are all made from squares, using my easy Sewfasst(r) techniques, no triangle was harmed in the making of this quilt. Pieced Half Square triangles lend themselves to many design possibilities. This star is only one of them, another design is included in the pattern. Make it from scraps, all you can find, or use coordinated dark, medium and light fabrics, instructions for either are included. The pattern instructions are for a 40"x40" quilt, but the quilt can be doubled in size by simply making the Half Square Triangles larger or adding more rows. How to do this is included in the instructions. Copyright bdieges designs(c)2013. All rights reserved. You are welcome to make quilts from these patterns for yourself or as gifts. In the picture, I am wearing one of my "qweaters," that is a quilt-sweater combination, with knitted back, sleeves, and quilted front. In the background is the Quilter's Newsletter January 1999 cover quilt, my Snow Crystals quilt. Although I have been playing with fabrics and threads since childhood, I did not make my first quilt until 1969. By 1982 quilting became my passion. I have had several years of in-depth study of quilt history, design and techniques with some very traditional and non-traditional quilt teachers. One of my quilts won an Honorable Mention at the American Quilt Society in Paducah, KY and have had eight quilts juried into that same show. Four of my quilts have also been in the International Quilt Association in Houston, TX. I also have had numerous patterns and books published. My book "A Thread Runs Through It," is based on my one-woman play, which has been an honor to present to guilds. Some quilt classes I teach are on the web at http://academyofquilting.com/. My website also keeps me busy. For almost 15 years I have been presenting an Applique Block of the Month at http://bdieges.com.
