I was trained as a Classical Archaeologist, and love finding ancient patterns from all over the world as inspiration for my quilts. "Intersections" is very simple to construct, but can be made as complex as you like through the use of different colors and prints. I have written the directions for a beginner, with thorough descriptions for cutting and piecing, photos to illustrate specific points, layout diagrams, and foundation blocks. It looks great with anything my testers have used: traditional fabrics, batiks, modern prints and colors, and solids! While I had a blast making my own version, it was even more satisfying to see what others have done with it to make it their own! I really love seeing everyone's creativity come out, and would love to have you share your version with me at Mandalei's Patterns on flickr or drop me a line on my blog at BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY basic piecing and sewing SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Crib: 31.45" x "41.5" Lap: 48.5" x 62.5" Twin: 62.5" x 83.5" Full/Queen: 90.5" x 90.5" King: 111.5" x 111.5"

Mandy Leins was hooked on quilting after making her first Rail Fence quilt 11 years ago using her grandmother's 1943 in-cabinet Singer. Since that first quilt, Mandy's passion for quilting and teaching has turned into a business. A professional longarm quilter and pattern designer, Mandy's first two patterns were published in Modern Quilts Unlimited and one, "All Together Now," was juried at the Machine Quilters Exposition. Formerly, Mandy worked as a classical archaeologist and the ancient world continues to influence and inspire her quilt designs.
