Class Overview

Enjoy a creative array of new longarm techniques and exciting projects taught by professional quilter Mandy Leins. Create a beautiful throw quilt reminiscent of a nature scene, and add visual interest with echoing, as well as rippling water and flower motifs. See how to easily design and raw edge appliqué a “Tree of Life” wall hanging entirely on your longarm. Then, quilt motifs like vines and leaves on the trunk of your tree, and make the most of your negative space by stitching a wispy sky dotted with soft clouds. Plus, learn to transform fabrics with your longarm, creating tempting textures and two lovely pillow projects. Finally, use tulle and wash-away stabilizer to quickly create fabulous collage effects and another set of gorgeous pillows.

Mandy Leins
Mandy Leins was hooked on quilting after making her first Rail Fence quilt 11 years ago using her grandmother's 1943 in-cabinet Singer. Since that first quilt, Mandy's passion for quilting and teaching has turned into a business. A professional longarm quilter and pattern designer, Mandy's first two patterns were published in Modern Quilts Unlimited and one, "All Together Now," was juried at the Machine Quilters Exposition. Formerly, Mandy worked as a classical archaeologist and the ancient world continues to influence and inspire her quilt designs.
