What advice would you give someone starting this project? That I knitted my FIRST sweater/jacket and I love it. I learned SO MUCH from this class.

Reply to Scarlett007. The ribbon is on the inside of the jacket. It lines both sides where the steeking is done. After you cut the knitted fabric, you need to hide all those pieces. The ribbon secures those stitches. My photo is a close up of the ribbon to show the pattern. Hope this makes sense.

Yes! Thanks very much. It's so nice of you to answer my ??. I'm a very beginning knitter, but I hope to someday soon, give your sweater a try! After I do a much simpler one to get my chops going!

where did this gorgeous trim come from??

04/06/2013 Flag

I purchased it from Joann Fabrics, believe it or not. It is a Simplicity brand trim. I had been looking for a long time in all the craft and quilting stores in my area without much luck. Gray ribbon was not easy to find. I also spent hours on ribbon sites. Then this ribbon showed up at Joann's .

Thank you. I like the whimsical look of mismatched buttons. It so fun to pick them out. :). I love your sweater. What color choices did you use? Very pretty.

Thank you for commenting. I debated a long time before deciding on my colors. It was worth it, though. :)
