I havea wisteria. it is beautiful.but is takes over. i had never had one but was taken by the beauty of it. wisteria is a vine. the store i purchased it from had trained it to grow like a tree. it didnt work. it stands upright kind of but it has grown into everything else and i have to constantly keep it pruned which is a pain. it grows out moreso than crepe myrtle do.they do on the tree. wisteria root go out further than on the vine itself, very invasive. if i had to do it over again knowing what i know, I would have never purchased it. not worth it unless you can put it out away from any and everything.
I have friends, living in Northern Ohio, that have wisteria. It is beautiful. it grows over a pergola, with the flower hanging down, but like with all your gardening, maintenance is required.
how unusual, beautiful
Oh how beautiful. I miss the scent of wisteria. It was so lovely around my patio in Florida... with the dog wood, red bud, tulip trees, crape myrtle, gardinias, azalias and so many things that Alaska is too cold to grow.
I have a wisteria about 10 years old, it is in partial shade, the shady side never blooms, is ther e anything i can do
