What materials did you use? fabrics from my stash. I WOULD have said that browns and earth tones were a palette I would never use, but this quilt was one where I used just that. Beige, brown, khaki but when I added in all the yellow, red, orange and bright greens it all just worked for me. Another no-pattern one - I just hacked up the strips, added the strips of blocks, then slicked the next bit to match.

What are you most proud of? Having the idea for the pattern, and the construction and making it work. I'll be prouder when I finish it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make sure the crossing strips are well longer than the straight fabric so when you flip it back you don't come up short.

This is gorgeous! I love the fact that it's so unique and, though it's not my palette either, in this case the colors really work! Love your escalator theme, too. Nicely done! :)
