What materials did you use? This was a kit I found on clearance at my local quilt shop. All the pieces were already laser cut. I backed it with a tropical batik. I machine pieced and then quilted using stitch in the ditch. on

What are you most proud of? I am pleased with the points on this quilt. They are not perfect, but they are better than previous points I have worked on in quilts. on

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take your time in lining up your fabrics, and make sure you keep a 1/4 inch seam throughout. on

I have been working dilligently to finish all of my UFO's (including some 20 year old hand pieced tops).... as soon as I clear out the UFO.s I may try this pattern...I will probably try hand piecing it..

I do a lot of hand qulting, I have not tried hand piecing. Good luck.

I did this one from a purchased kit in greens. It was paper pieced, but I also have a set of templates, which I think would be more difficult. Most points were near perfect, It was the quilting that took forever! Mine is a wall hanging, and appears to have smaller pieces. The first time I saw the pattern it was for a very large quilt and in all bright batik colors. I like the colors in this example very much.

Thank you. I don't know how to paper piece. I would like to learn someday.

My Storm at Sea was quilted using 5 straight lines from block to block going both directions corner to opposite corner like the original one I loved and promised myself to make one day. The center line goes from the center of one block to the center of the next, and shows a lot of movement like waves across the quilt. Next time I would use longer stitches - mine are way too small. I forgive myself; I havent quilted many quilts and still have a lot to learn. I have pieced more than I've actually quilted and usually do stitch in ditch because I'm not very imaginative!

I have gotten better at picking quiilting designs from working on Project LInus quilts. You can practice different quilting methods and make someone happy at the same time.

I love the quilt in the color you make it want to make blue and green for friend
