What materials did you use? 100% cotton fabrics and batiks Carol Doak's Foundation Papers

What are you most proud of? The quilt actually lies flat.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Learn how to paper-piece (Carol Doak's method is the most straight forward). This takes a lot of planning, but once you have it down, the piecing goes by fairly quickly.

What a lot of work. Just love it. PP and I are good friends, but I have never attacked something with so many pieces. Well done

Is there a pattern for Rainbow Vortex

02/11/2016 Flag

I created my own pattern based on the cover photo and techniques I learned in RaNae Merrill's book Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=simply+amazing+spiral+quilts

Stunning! Did you dye your own fabrics perchance? ***smiles***

03/01/2016 Flag

No. I used mostly batiks. I should invest in learning the process, though, because I sure love the look of hand-dyed fabric!

03/01/2016 Flag

Batiks? They make me drool! LOL Well, lovely work regardless of YOU hand dyeing it or not. I loves me some COLOR! Oh, or could you tell? ***smiles***
