What materials did you use? The material for the cloak is satin. For the crown I used pelmet vilene and covered it with gold lame and used felt for the jewels, ( our 2yr old would remove beads ) and the skirt is made from a sheer polyester.

What are you most proud of? My 2 year old grandaughter loved it and is still wearing the crown constantly.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The course is good fun and has a lot of great ideas. Velcro is a great fastener for dressing up clothes for small children.

I had to improvise for the skirt. I have sent for tulle but this costume had to be made in a huge hurry for the playgroup party.

what a beautiful costume....fit for a coronation! I wish I had a sewing machine to make a gorgeous cape like that! I am working on a "princess" outfit for my little princess. Please post more pictures....great inspiration!
