What materials did you use? 100% cotton scraps and batting

What are you most proud of? I was able to take ideas learned from Pepper Cory's course and QuiltDude's pattern which I love and make a unique quilt. I hope QuiltDude does not object.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? You do not always have to follow a pattern exactly. Put your own spin on it.

Oh Ladymax! I love your floating blocks! I especially like the offset. Great use of scraps. QuiltDude and I bought the same pattern. His version inspired me to use the 3D sashing for last year's BOM. I just finished putting the blocks together but have yet to post. Now there are 3 of us floaters (that I know of) :D

What a great group we make. I can't wait to see your version.

I do not object at all. On the contrary, I am honored, and impressed, and excited that you took inspiration from my project and put your own spin on it. This looks great, Ladymax! I think you have the "trick" of getting the shadow effect down pat. This is perfect for a young lady, the colors are so feminine and go so well. Great job! And Jean, please hurry and post your project! LOL I would love to see what your version looks like. I will be on the lookout! The Floaters' Club. I like that!

Yah, Floaters Club. Many thanks QuiltDude, I was afraid that I had overstepped first by copying your design and second by making changes. I really love this design and it is so quick. I am sure my preemies parents are loving them. Many thanks again for sharing.

No worries at all, Ladymax. I am thrilled to be able to inspire you and others to make your own version of something I've done. That's what this forum is for after all, right? To share and inspire. Cheers, Ladymax!

You are correct about the purpose of the forum. With so many people like you, this is where I learned to quilt.
