What materials did you use? I used odds and ends of batiks I had, as well as a fat quarter from my stash. I was worried about using several shades of brown but the batiks pulled it all together.

What are you most proud of? I've never done a block with so many pieces! It's not perfect, but came out pretty well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Precise seams in that center section are critical. I loved the not-pressing idea, as it does minimize stretching, but I should have done a bit more pressing in the center section.

You may not think it perfect, but it sure looks good to me. Great job.

Thanks Ladymax... I know I'll look at it later and wish I'd done things differently, but that learning process is what it's all about I think!

Thank you Kaye! And thanks for a great class, with a lot of inspiration. I've used many of your little tips to great advantage since taking it.

such a lovely colour combination

Thank you Kay! I often find the best combinations of fabrics happen when I force myself to use what I have. You mention a "large stash" in your profile, so it sounds like you have a lot to work with. Happy quilting!

This block is stunning! I love how you added interest to the borders with small bits of bright color and also the curved applique of the ethnic print. You've definitely inspired me!
