Here are some details about my project:
Category Quilting
Type Functional

What materials did you use? This is all cotton. It was hand pieced by my Aunt from scraps of my Grandmother's dress & apron materials. The background is sugar sacks. It was given to me by my Aunt to finish. I hand quilted it and bound it and gave it to my daughter. I call it my learning quilt because after quilting half of it, my Mother showed me a better way and I ended up tearing out the fist half of the quilting and redoing it . I was much happier with the results.

I am also making a Grandmother's flower garden quilt with 2.5" sqs. It will eventually be a full/queen size(one day). I have 5 rows done sofar

It is indeed lovely! I too am making a GFG quilt, but it will be a modified version... thirty-six flowers on 12" white squares, alternating with thirty-six 12" white squares with colorful machine embroidered designs. The reason: I'm a 'young' 57-year-old, but my hexagons are only 1"... if I try to make an entire quilt, I MAY die first:-). I may attempt a real one when this one is done, but with larger hexagons. Say...4" !!!

Beautiful quilt! I am almost finished with my GFG quilt, all hand pieced. I would really like to know how you finished it i.e. the edges? I thought that I could just "fill" in between the uneven edges of the blocks so that I could create a straight edge that I could bind like you did but can't seam to make it work? Also, I would like to ask how you quilted it?
