What materials did you use?
batik layer cake, stencils, Isacord thread
What are you most proud of?
I mostly could follow my stencil lines even though I just lost it every now & then. My circles have definitely improved. I might actually be able to do pebbling.
Love those batiks and your quilting rocks!!!
Thanks so much, Jean! I wasn't totally thrilled with the on sale batiks in this layer cake but they got me to the quilting practice which I really need.
Hey what a great idea - use on sale fabrics!! I've been wondering what to use for practice when I get to FMQ.
Thanks, Pieceful1! Got to keep trying the FMQ if I'm ever going to get even partially competent at it.
AWWW Darns, Ithink you are highly competent! I Love your stuff!
Fantastic job - I am really looking forward to the end of the month when I got for a free motion lesson - maybe one day I will be able to do what you are - yours looks tremendous. What sort of foot did you use - a darning or a special one for free motion?
When I took Machine Quilting (Wendy Butler Berns) and Beyond Basic Machine Quilting (Ann Petersen) classes, I was using the Bernina Stitch Regulator on my Bernina 430. I kind of got the feel for how the machine should sound when moving the quilt around. I have since been using the #9 darning foot as the visibility is better with this foot.
Thanks Darns - I haven't got a number 9 for my bernina but a #29 which says it is a quilting foot - it is like a a darning foot but much bigger whole. Thank you for answering my question Darns.
Looking good Darns! Looks a little big for Wallace tho, don't tell me this one is not for him LOL?
Thanks, Pam, actually this one went to my brother - probably his dog will be sleeping on it!
Looks great to me! I think you've got it!
