What materials did you use? Improvisational Queen Size Quilt. BLUE-RED-YELLOW cotton prints on a field of white. Free Motion Quilted on a Long Arm Machine. MY FIRST LONG ARM QUILT!

What are you most proud of? PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS: Didn't have enough white cotton for the backing, so I added yellow printed cotton squares in the corners. Didn't have enough blue cotton to making binding so I alternated blue, green, fabric strips to make enough. Having to substitute other prints added more life and vibrance to the quilt. I'm glad it turned out that way.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take Angela Walters class Machine Quilting Negative Spaces, and learn how easy it is to turn simple shapes into more complex quilting patterns. This is a great class for quilting on a domestic sewing machine, mid-arm, or long arm machine. You'll love this class and Angela.

Hello there Pam. Thanks for your encouraging words. I've got a long way to go, but will continue to study as I practice. I ordered a McTavish book and CD--and I'll give a review of those on my next post. Working on Parallel Universe quilt right now--and squaring up blocks. --P.S. I can't see to make the "replay to this comment work." Not sure why. I keep trying to use that feature; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm going to try it a second time this morning.

Just a WOW-project! Love your solutions ... Looks so fresh and the quilting is great. One sees you have a lot fun doing it. And it encourages others that there is always a way out of a difficulty. Thanks a lot for sharing!

I just washed this quilt for the first time. It is even more supple and stitch/depth enhanced due to ever so slight shrinkage of 100% cottons. Washing Drying Results were just as I expected. I'm sooooo pleased. I confess--all the blues in this quilt were cotton duck, and even those washed up soft and lovely.

I really like your concept for the quilt, the colors, and the quilting itself. Fabulous job!!!
