Gorgeous! This class is on my wish list but I don't own (and can't current afford!) a torch, so I am just looking forward to it one day!

Hope to see you here! It's just a standard kitchen creme brle type torch, nothing too fancy.

Hi Ms Vestal. I saw this leaf pin and fell head-over-heels immediately :) Ive been *thinking* about adding a PMC class. I like that there is not a LONG list of required supplies. Two questions: (1) The torch is scary. Are there specific instructions on best brand and proper usage? And (2) I love leaves, but it sounds like size may be an issue. Is there a size limit for torch-fired PMC?

Please do take the class - you will have so much fun! There is a FREE Craftsy Miniclass called Micro Torch Basics, start there and you'll be in good shape. As far as a size limit for firing PMC, the rule of thumb is about 25 grams. That's a lump about the size of 3 quarters stacked together. If it's spread out on a leaf, you will want to keep your torch moving all the time to keep it uniformly heated. For a big piece, I would torch it for closer to 5 minutes, to take into account temperature dips as you move around the piece.

Thank you so much! I am looking forward to it.
