What materials did you use? Brushed striped denim, and red silk jacquard for lining. Brushed silver metal buttons.

What are you most proud of? Everything. I had so much fun constructing this jacket. Following Professor King's advise, I had no problems.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? It took longer to assemble all of the materials - fabric, lining, interfacing, buttons than it did to construct it. But it was fun finding just the right silk lining and just the right buttons. So my advice is gather all your supplies ahead of time so you don't have to wait to finish a section because you don't have what you need. Also, pay really close attention to how Professor King presses as he constructs each section. Like he says no matter how well you sew, if you press it wrong it will look bad.

The jacket pattern I used is Vogue 8884, view A. I think it would look great made in corduroy. I basically followed Professor King's construction format. Of course this jacket doesn't have a fly front and has a full lining. But everything went together very easily - it was a fun jacket to sew. Thank you for your very kind comments. I think if you follow Professor King's instructions you will end up with a professional looking jacket as well. And patterns are on sale over at the vogue pattern website, $4.99 can't beat that price.
