What materials did you use? Worsted weight 100% Peruvian Wool, I hook.

What are you most proud of? How easy it was to figure out how to do them.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use nice yarn. I have made them in acrylic and they are not nearly as nice. They are good in cotton or bamboo for summer too.

I wore these in the fifties, and have been wanting to learn how to make one. It's the next thing I'm getting my hands on. Thanks!!!

Thank you. Go to http://www.allcrafts.net/crochet/crochetflowers.htm and find the crocheted rosette. I make the largest one usually. You end up with a long wavy strip that you wind up into a rose. I find that winding loosely works better than winding tightly. The leaves are ch 11 ss in 1st st from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next 2 chs, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, ss in last ch. Work your way up the other side of the ch the same way except miss out the ss at the beginning. You should end up with the ss on the side at the top so you can fasten of and work your yarn end through the top of the beginning chain keeping a nice point at the top of your leaf. I make these roses as pins and also attach them to hair barrettes too.

I wore these as a kid in the 50's. Glad to have found the pattern.
