What materials did you use? Cotton fabric, cotton batting, cotton and metallic thread, fusible webbing and basting spray.

What are you most proud of? I love the quilting in the centre - I hadn't planned for it to be like that I just started at the outside and worked my way into the centre and the design worked it self out - i love that it ended up looking kind of like candles...

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't be afraid to alter other peoples designs, it just takes a bit of thought, time and maths :)

I love all of the above... You are so creative and such a wonderful Christmas tabel you shall have

It never matters what the original design was. Making it your own and putting your twist on it is always a great idea. :) When I first saw the picture, I didn't see trees -- I saw a big snowflake with red and green trim, but now I see the trees. It's kind of like an optical illusion which is awesome. I love how you made use of the practice pieces!

That was the thing that appealed to me about the original design too - thanks :)

Can you provide the original pattern source? Thank you.

Sure, check the "Keepsake Quilting" website under patterns/christmas & holiday. The link is here: hope that works :)
