What was your source for this crocheting project?
Online Photo or Website
Name of website or photo Caribbean Twins Baby Afghans
What materials did you use? Soft worsted weight yarn, in 6 oz. (170 g) skeins [Boy - 4 skeins yellow, 2 each of blue and green; and Girl - 4 skeins yellow, 2 each of orange and pink]; and size I (5.50 mm) crochet hook.
What are you most proud of? It's silly, but I love the cute little stuffed frog I found to photograph with the boy afghan! I love the way the afghans turned out, too!
What advice would you give someone starting this project? The animals, plants, etc., are cross-stitched on an afghan stitch (tunisian stitch) square. Be sure to weave in all the ends securely for baby's safety. The squares are done separately and then crocheted together using a connect-as-you-go technique, so the only sewing is the cross-stitch. The finished size is 44-1/2" square. This is an easy pattern, available for $4.00, and is written in U.S. terms.
