Here are some details about my project:

What materials did you use? I used some shibori fabric I made in a class a few years ago. The insert fabric is commercial.

What are you most proud of? I did not let perfectionism get in my way of completing this piece. I just followed the process of inserting strips and then put it on the design wall, moved it around a bit. Then sewed. Done.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just start.

How is the edge finished? There is no apparent closure on the front.

I followed the directions Joe gave in one of the comments on the projects above. You sew your binding strip on the front like usual but you pull it all the way to the back and hand sew the edge down on the back. I ironed the edge down before I sewed it so you could not see the binding fabric. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Joe. I am making one more in this series with my remaining green shibori fabric. I am adding some solid fabric corners. Getting a little funkier. I will post when completed.

The stripes against the soft prints is lovely.

Thank you.

Totally awesome!!!! I really like that you used hand dyed fabric and commercial fabrics. Really great combo. What size blocks did you use? I guess it would depend upon what size you wanted. Really like this. I dye a lot of fabric and have now found a use for what I dye. Great Job!!!
