What are you most proud of? The pics aren't good, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. Maggie Austin's instructions were great.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Maybe start off with 1 or 2 tiers instead of 4? Perhaps?

Nice ruffles.

This is totally gorgeous, Susan! I love your `cake stand' too. It goes so well with the heavenly cake. I agree with you about Maggie's class - excellent. Did you find it time-consuming due to not having a pasta machine? I just made my first one with the help of a machine and didn't find it too bad, but it was only 2 tiers.

Hi, Catherine! Well . . . I did have the pasta attachment for my Kitchenaid, but it was just such a large cake - so much - and for me, just learning the new technique, and ruffling every inch - just took me a lot of time. I found working with fondant more challenging due to the softness (versus gum paste) - I'm just starting another one - we'll see if it goes any faster this time around! :-)
