What are you most proud of? How everything came together! It all looked great and the kids (and parents) really enjoyed it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I used cake dummies (Styrofoam) for the bottom two tiers of the cake. The cake would not have looked as impressive without the height, nut we did not need that much cake - so I faked it and it worked great!!

I read online about various ways that other people had done it (royal icing, candy melts, fondant, etc). and decided to go with royal icing because I wanted the color to be bright. I used what I call the "straw method" because I wanted easy clean up :) Just color your icing and use a plastic drinking straws to dip in each color and flick it on the cake. Be sure to cover the surrounding area as it does get everywhere! Use a different straw for each color so they don't get mixed up and vary the angles that you flick the icing on the cake. Also, be sure to thin out the royal icing enough so it is sort of "drippy". Otherwise, it is just a matter of getting enough icing on the straw and throwing it on the cake with a filck of the wrist!!
