What materials did you use? Cotton fabric, fusible interfacing, invisible zipper

What are you most proud of? I made a pattern. Before this class, I never thought I could make my own pattern from scratch.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't rush through the steps. Spend a lot of time on making the pattern until you get it right. Now that I know my pattern is right, I can make skirts till the cows come home!

I just wanted to say that this skirt I used the slash-and spread method, and I think that I will avoid using this skirt pattern again unless using a fabric that has more drape. I used 100% cotton, and I think it is stiff and actually makes me look wider. I also wore black leggings under the dress (it's cold right now!), and the cotton fabric kept clinging to my legs, and I felt like the hem of the skirt was climbing up my legs. Wearing a slip didn't help. So I am going to avoid cotton, and maybe look for some nice linen. This was a "practice" skirt for me, and all-in-all I am pleased with the outcome. I also added a pocket and finished the hem.

I have the same problem with cotton...sticks to my legs and slips don't help! I wonder what a better fabric would be? Have you tried linen?

It really does look great - well done. I'm a beginner and am working a lot with cotton as easy to use - so I appreciate your tips on it. Thanks!
