Aunt Monica has been crafting since childhood and wants to share that joy with others, inspiring creativity and imagination in the world. She enjoys doing several techniques including knitting, crochet, embroidery, sewing, and tatting. She has both a certificate in apparel design and a diploma in fashion design. She taught beginner sewing with the Winnipeg Leisure Guide program. Her tatted bookmark pattern was published in the spring 2015 edition of A Needle Pulling Thread magazine. When she is not designing, crafting or teaching, you will find her playing with her ladies Mojo and Linda, dogs adopted from Manitoba animal rescues, and helping her cats to have patience with these fun loving energetic friends. Why Aunt Monicas Attic? Of all the roles she had in her life, her favourite title is Aunt. A few years ago Aunt Monicas nieces and her nephew came to Winnipeg to visit her as part of their cross-Canada family vacation. When they got home, the girls were asked what their favourite part of the trip was for them. Without hesitation they both said Aunt Monicas Attic! The mannequins, fabrics, and activities in the attic made a huge impression. Aunt Monicas Attic was born from Monicas favourite role and her nieces favourite part of their summer vacation.
