1. Sideways Braid Beanie
Knit in soft and smooth Malabrigo Arroyo, this simple cabled hat gets some extra oomph from a sideways construction that twines the braid around the head. Elegant and fast to knit, this would be a great quick winter project!

2. Chunky Gansey Cowl
Another fast and warm winter project, the Chunky Gansey Cowl uses thick Cascade Ecological Wool in conjunction with traditional gansey textures to create a beautiful and cozy neck warmer. This would be a great project to knit as a test run before embarking on a gansey sweater.

4. Wrap Infinity
Lace knitting is one of my favorite forms of relaxation, and this project, designed to use up leftover yarn, looks like a meditative and beautiful way to stay calm. A luxurious blend like Cloudborn Alpaca Wool and Silk yarn would make a shiny and soft wrap that would feel great to wear.

5. Knit with Wire Bracelet
If you’re new to wire knitting, this pretty beaded bracelet is meant as a starter tool. The actual knitting appears to be fairly simple, and the result is a special piece of jewelry with an unusual look. Great for last-minute gift knitting!

6. Cable Hat
Simple cables make another cozy and stylish hat. The sample is shown in a solid-colored yarn, but this would also be beautiful in a kettle-dyed yarn like Malabrigo Merino Worsted. Use dramatic winter hues like berry red or icy blue, or soften it with a pale lilac or stone gray.

7. Scrunchable Leg Warmers
A pattern this simple is all about showcasing a gorgeous yarn, and the sample photo does this perfectly! Handpainted yarns are a great choice for patterns with a lot of stockinette stitch. These legwarmers will keep you warm and show off a special skein.

8. Next Steps Scarf
This fun scarf is also all about the yarn! A dramatic bias and stair step shape in garter stitch shows off self striping yarns perfectly. Try James C Brett Marble Chunky, or Universal Mohair Mountain.
