Hi Tracy I know it’s been awhile since you asked your question but I’m here to answer…After you do what the recipe says you stick them back in the fridge/freezer and wait about 10-20 minutes get them back out drizzle some more candy melts on top of them (do not dip again) and add your sprinkles then. (If you add your sprinkles when you dip them you could possibly put way to many but when you drizzle the candy melt on the cake pop it limits the amount of sprinkles)

No, it will not harden and your cake pops slide off the stick. Also, the icing will be thick and you won’t be able to get it on the cake pop. Chocolate is your best option because it will actually harden. Technically you could also use a sugar glaze or isomalt because they will harden as well but I have not seen anyone try it.
