That pattern is by Sirdar and has nothing to do with anything TN. Customer should probably email Sirdar customer service at Hello@Sirdar.com

Generally the abbreviations should be at the top of a pattern but Sirdar should be able to help –

Hello Johnnie,

Our expert said: I don’t think that’s a standard abbreviation. I would need to see the numbers within the larger context of the pattern to make this out for the knitter. If they can send more information about the pattern I can help.

Please reach out to customer service or submit your question here: https://www.craftsy.com/contact/

Hello,

I’m not familiar with “L” as an abbreviation, besides referring to the left side of the work, like the Front Left or Back Left of a sweater. I would need to see this in the context of the pattern to answer this question. Many knitting patterns include a section explaining abbreviations that the designer may have used that aren’t necessarily standard but that they use in their own patterns. That might be helpful.

If the designer is using L to abbreviate for something specific in their pattern (besides designating you’re on the Left side of the work), the knitter would repeat “L, p2tog” five times in a row. If the L means something different, this probably just means to p2tog five times in a row.

I hope this is helpful but if there’s more information I’d love to look further. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Hannah Rose
