Sewing an apron is one of the most rewarding experiences for any beginner sewer. Aprons are fast to whip up and they’re fabulous gifts. Pick your favorite free apron patterns below and get sewing!

The 8 cutest free apron patterns

1. The PiePie Apron

This fully lined full comes in two versions and three child sizes. The Signature Version ties at the neck and waist and features adorable bib with a ruffle. The Simple Version is a one-piece apron that’s completely reversible.

2. Fruitful Apron

If you love to play around your house making a thousand different things all at once, then you need this tiny apron! The apron includes a handy cell phone pocket, and it uses velcro instead of ties! Don’t forget to follow designer’s instructions to stitch the bottom of the pockets just a bit less than the size of the objects are going in there, or they will sink in!

3. Eco-Zakka Apron From a Shirt

This one is probably my favorite concept. It’s not actually a pattern but a set of drawn instructions to refashion a men’s shirt into an upcycled apron. What I love is that the designer reduces waste by cutting out just enough to straighten the edges and saving construction time.

4. 1-Hour Apron

If you need to put together a nice half-apron in no time, use this tutorial. It’s perfect for a last-minute gift. Plus, you can use the tutorial to sew many aprons that match any outfit, season or holiday.

5. Alina Girl’s Apron

Another patchwork apron, this time in child size, with velcro to adjust around the waist. This is the perfect scrap buster. Since the apron is fully lined, you have to assemble the scraps first,to re-create the fabric. Then follow the instructions and cut out the apron shape.

6. Mother-Daughter Apron

This is probably the most classic apron pattern, with inverted pleats, ruffles all around, tied straps and a full lining. Just add pockets and you have the perfect apron!

7. Little Kid’s Chef Apron

Sew coordinated aprons for your children with this pattern in three sizes (2-4 years, 4-6 years and 6-10 years). They feature  a nice rounded pocket, and the pattern includes instructions to make them reversible. Add a little chef hat and oven mittens to complete the look!
