Understanding exposure. Object: take a photo of and object with a bright background. Take one picture using the metering in the camera, the other making necessary adjustments to improve the photo. My camera was set on manual mode. 1st photo: TV 1/100, AV 2.8, Metering evaluative, ISO 100. The only change I made to the second photo was the AV (aperture). I change that setting to f/11. The washed out photo 1 is now an acceptable photo 2. I know using f/2.8 on a very bright day was extreme but....
