The Nursery

Project Description

What are you most proud of? This photo was taken in ordinary daylight in my conservatory. I tried photos using pale green, pale pink, pale blue and cream backgrounds before settling on black. I love the fact that the colours are exactly the same as the hand dyed mohair I used for the bears. Getting the colour right is SO important when selling bears over the Internet. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I'm not good enough at photography to give advice, but natural light and large artboard backgrounds work for me.

Q&A with Teddymaker

ConnieCaKes asked:
Wow! What an awesome job.
Teddymaker answered:
Many thanks!
busycrafting asked:
This is beautiful. I love how the pink bear is looking at the blue one! The lighting is perfect too. The only criticism I have for this is that the green and red on the tablecloth(?) seem to clash with the colours of the bear and my eyes keep getting drawn to the leaves. I hope you don't mind me saying that. It is a beautiful photo though!
Teddymaker answered:
I totally agree. The colours of the strawberries on the tablecloth are too strong against the pastel colours of the bears.
Caro Sheridan asked:
This is a wonderful little vignette! Nicely done! Fabulous!
Teddymaker answered:
Thank you, Caro
Faiza asked:
Adorable!! My aunt collects teddies and I'm sure she would love one of those. Do you have a website?
Teddymaker answered:
Thank you! I do have a blog - www.teddybuys.blogspot.com
