Floral Photography w/ ND Filter

Project Description

What is exciting or interesting to you about your photo(s)? I tried to take a photo of Iris flower in my garden by noon, but the light was so harsh. It might desaturate the color of flower. So I put a neutral density filter in front of lens. I was able to capture the clear shot which was not only overexposed but also colors are not faded away. This experimental shot was the first time use of ND filter.

What you will need

  • I used 18~200mm zoom lens on Sony Nex-7 mirrorless camera. Also I used a Neutral Density filter in order to reduce the harsh light effect over the flower. I took a photo at F40 which was a lot smaller f-stop and enough to cut down the harsh light.
