First Flower with Canon G15

Project Description

What is exciting or interesting to you about your photo(s)? This is the only flower that is blooming in my garden right now. I decided to do some experimenting with my new Canon G15. This is handheld, 1/200 sec @ f/2.8. I specifically wanted to see how the bokeh would look. I'm trying Lightroom for the first time and have no clue how it works but I muddled around and did a tiny bit of cropping and a little enhancement. Overall I am very pleased with my first experiment! Although I am shooting with an Eye-Fi Mobi card and it works wonderfully, I just put the card in my laptop and transferred the photos that way.

Q&A with Joanna Strohn

salsaguy asked:
What equipment did you need to use with the G15? I have a G12 and would like to try macro with it as well as my dslrs
Joanna Strohn answered:
For this test shot no equipment at all other than putting it in Macro and shooting handheld (1/200 second). I did go onto Amazon and found a really cheap bundle ($50) that includes some lenses and accessories. I've tested briefly inside but haven't had the chance to do any flower photography. It's not going to give me DSLR pixel peeper quality for sure. But for having fun experimenting I think it will do. I'm looking forward to more fun with flowers!
