Depth Of Field Practice

Project Description

What is exciting or interesting to you about your photo(s)? I read through my excruciatingly boring manual and started playing around with the camera settings. Taking it out of auto mode truly stressed me out at first. I had this in manual mode and did all the adjustments myself. I was like "Ahhhh yeah!!!" I don't know why I waited so long to be brave but I'm glad I finally did. What an awesome class this is! I'll be watching it again several times till I'm fully confident! LOL. This isn't a product image per say being that I'm still not finished with it but it was within reaching range when I was looking for something to photograph. This will eventually be a reversible Fair Isle hat for my daughter for Christmas. One side is Fair Isle and the reverse side is striped. Then pick up stitches along the edge and do a 2x2 ribbing. What are you most proud of? That I can see a gradual blurring out of the image as it goes further back. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I watched the entire class first before I even pulled out my camera. Then started going through it again and playing around with the camera's manual settings and reading the operations manual that came with the camera.

What you will need

  • Canon Rebel T3i/ 600D - 18-55mm lens. I also pulled out my new macro lense and played around with that as well. The yarn I'm using is Merino/Angora and wanted to see if I could capture the beautiful halo I was seeing. :-)
