Pattern Description:

Sewing Pattern #301 Phone and Tablet Pillow
This is for a PDF pattern.

This is such a quick project, great for yourself, family members, gifts, etc. The smaller size is perfect for smartphones, iPods, Zooms, mp3 players, etc. The larger size will fit any tablet or eReader, iPads, Kindles, etc.

The phone pillow is small, light, and travel and space friendly. It is perfect for your bedside, on your desk, in the kitchen, bathroom counter, in the car, on a plane, anywhere you want to go. No more holding your phone and dropping it on your head when you doze off reading a book or watching a movie. You'll want to make a million - one for every place you go.

This pattern now includes instructions, AND cutting template for a tablet size pillow. (The phone size does not use a cutting template. Make phone pillow with fabric dimensions specified - will be a rectangle, without the slant in the back.) Don't fret, it won't take over your desk space! Use the template, and the pillow finishes up quite compact for being able to hold your tablet at that perfect angle. Use it on your desk, by your sewing machine - great for reading patterns or watching movies or listening to music, while you sew! Put one in your kitchen for easy recipe reading while you cook. The possibilities and benefits are endless!!

This pattern includes:
6 pages of patterns, including step-by-step photos for making the pillow, as well as stitching it closed.
1 template for the tablet size. Why no template for the phone size? Because you start with a simple rectangle.

For the filling: In the pattern I suggest using fish rocks, that you put in fish tanks. It does work very well. Another popular filler is crushed walnut shells. It can be found at pet stores, as it is used in reptile tanks (I think).

I have tried batting, and it is a no go! It shifts and eventually settles, no longer supporting that perfect reading angle of your device. It is also light, which, especially for a tablet, does not give the support needed to hold it in place. Lesson learned: use something with weight!
