Pattern Description:

MariaDenmark 104 - Just a Tank Top

This is a Very basic, very useful tank top. This pattern is perhaps the most versatile basics of all!

A tank top of any colour or pattern can be worn with jeans or shorts for casual wear, a plain coloured or subtle print tank can be layered with a thin cardigan or blazer jacket for office wear and you could make one in a glittery jersey " or animal print - to wear with skinny jeans and heels for a night out.

Have fun using any kind of print " including kid(tm)s jerseys and use matching or contrasting ribbing to finish the armholes and the neckline.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • This pattern is a multisized pattern with all sizes from BXS (full bust = 80 cm (311/2")- BXXL (full bust = 110 cm (431/2") included! Just A Tank Top was drafted for a B-cup bust - as all European patterns (including Onion and Burda) are. If you wear a larger bust size, I recommend you choose your size based on your high bust measurement and do a Full Bust Alteration, as described in this article for a better fit in the upper bust and shoulder area.
  • Article on Full Bust alteration for knits can be found if you follow the link above

  • This pattern is designed for jersey fabric containing elastane (often called spandex or lycra). The one on the front page is made from a cotton/elastane jersey with 4% elastane. You(tm)ll need about 75 cm (30) of fabric (140 cm /55 wide) for either size. If you want to use contrasting ribbing for the neckline and armhole finishing, you(tm)ll need 5 - 10 cm (2 " 4) ribbing (140 cm (55) wide).

You Will Also Need:

  • Thread, pins and a stretch sewing machine needle
