This is a fresh new design that would be great in solids, as pictured above, or in prints. I designed this quilt as I was getting ready for my husband's second tour in Afghanistan and I felt like I was at a crossroads. We had big changes happening and this quilt quickly came together.
What I love about this quilt is the simple optical illusion that is created by setting the blocks on point, Once the top is assembled and quilted it is hard to tell where each quilt block stops and the next one starts.
In assembling this quilt I show you a great technique for assembling the block from the outside in, You actually do not close the center of the block until the very last step. It sounds difficult but it is actually super easy and opens the door for so many new designs!
I am a SAHM to a 4 yr old girl and wife to a US Soldier. I started designing quilts and quilt blocks 3 years ago and completed several projects during my husband's last deployment to Afghanistan. I am currently working on finalizing more patterns and have several free quilts patterns and blocks on my blog.
