I've been quilting for 12 years, designing my own quilts and patterns for about 5. I love the scrappy look and strong geometric lines. I longarm quilt all my own quilts freehand and recently acquired an Intelliquilter computer to add more options to my longarm quilting.
I live with my husband, sister, and two small dogs, and am mom to 3 grown children, MIL to two lovely daughters in law, and grandma to 6 delightful grands - three boys and three girls.
This easy-to-piece pattern in 4 sizes (throw, twin, queen, and king) uses just fat quarters (FQs) and a little extra yardage for borders to make a contemporary and colorful quilt. I designed it initially for a wedding gift using an assortment of large prints; I think it looks equally stunning in blended batiks.
Although it looks complex, there are almost no seams to match and you can complete the throw size in a weekend. This pattern looks great in almost any fabric. It includes a bonus chart if you want to use up your scraps.
Once you make one, you'll be heading back to your stash for more of those FQs you've been accumulating to make another!
