Do you square up your log cabin squares. How can I get the lap quilt size?

There is another version called "Log Cabin Cross Quilt" which is a larger quilt.

Can you use precuts for this wall hanging? If so which size do you reccomend?

Karen Wood Craigie on craftsy.com

This pattern uses a number of different lengths, so pre-cuts will still have to be cut again. I used fabrics from a batik jelly roll that my husband gave me for Christmas to make this one...but I still had to cut a lot of little pieces!

Could a beginner quilter handle this project? I would love to make this for my daughter if I pay for the pattern could you mail be a copy because sometimes my printer works and sometimes it doesn't. Thank you

A beginner would be able to do this pattern. The key is consistent seams, proper pressing and following directions. Although it is a wall hanging, it has a lot of pieces!

Hi. I am a beginner quilter and am interested in this pattern. Will the pattern give me instructions as far as how many fabrics and amounts of each I will need and/or how to cut and piece the fabrics together? This may be a silly question. I have two family members who can help me but just want to make sure I understand before I order.

Sorry late in answering, yes instructions are detailed and have all of your questions answered!

Can you share fabric requirements and final size of this hanging? Thank you.

Karen Wood Craigie on craftsy.com

The final size is 22 x 30 inches unless you wish more borders. This is definitely a stash busting project, with overall fabric of about 2m. Fat quarters can be used for the cross portion too.

I would be very interested in a lap size also. Do you have a pattern worked out for that size yet? I would be very interested but would need it within the next week. Is that possible? Thank you.

Is it possible to make this in a lap/throw size? If so, do you have a pattern for that size? Want to make this for our pastor who is retiring.

I would like to make this as a lap blanket. Any ideas on how to enlarge it. If that can be figured out, I will be ordering. It would make a wonderful retirement gift for a friend that is a Lutheran school teacher.

I would like to enlarge this to hang over the altar of my church. (I'm the pastor). I would use the seasonal, liturgical colors as I expand out from the cross so that it could be up all year. Do you think this can be enlarged to probably 5 ft by 8 ft.

I have worked out dimensions for something larger than this wall hanging but not quite what you needed. I could take a look at increasing it something near those dimensions.

It could probably be much smaller than what I suggested. I can get the pattern as is and enlarge it myself. I just wondered if you thought it is possible.

I will be happy to post a picture, but I work full time as a Pastor and am slow to get my quilts done so it could be awhile. My church is called Holy Cross so I thought this would be appropriate.
