Pattern Description:

Designed for teaching, this quilt is a great project for the confident beginner. Each block illustrates a new technique or short cut to help grow our skills.

The applique for this project used the technique showcased in my Machine Finished Hand Applique Craftsy class.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finishes 66 inches by 89 inches


  • Yardage: 2 1/2 yards for the sashing; 3/4 yard for the binding; For the Individual Blocks: Fat Quarters (18" x 22"): 8-9 pale prints for Backgrounds; And Light, Medium and Dark:Red, Green, Purple, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Brown; Other bits of color for the individual blocks and applique.

You Will Also Need:

  • Rotary Cutter and Mat; Assorted rulers: the 12 1/2" x 6 1/2" Creative Grid is my favorite. A larger square ruler (14" to 20 1/2") will come in handy for the larger pieces we will be cutting. 50 wt. 100% cotton piecing thread in a neutral color. Your favorite applique tools
