The easiest thing to do with a jelly roll! No quilting required- you quilt as you sew both the front and the back together. A very good pattern for beginners! The fabric shown in the main photo is from our "Wishes" collection by Sweetwater for Moda.
Hi! Starting my first quilt with my first jelly roll pattern. Yeah!! About Step 4: Is there any advantage/disadvantage to sewing two strips of the same fabric together, or two patterns in the same color family, or two different colors? (It is possible I'm overthinking this!) Thanks - Joy
Hi-If you read on your pattern in step #7, it clearly states what it looks like on both sides. Hope that helps!
Is it possible to see what the back of this quilt is supposed to look like, i just bought the pattern. But am unclear as to the back side, is it supposed to be a rag edge too.
I ordered this pattern and paid for it in May and never received. My name is Connie Nieman. Do I download from somewhere?
When I purchase a pattern I can find it by clicking "my craftsy" found on a drop down menu in the upper left corner. Then I click "my patterns" found on the left side. I hope you find it.
Ok I've been really trying to find this material, but no luck so far. I'm not a quilter, so can you tell me if its better to buy fat quarters for this type of quilt, or actual width of material. Not sure the actual measurements on the fatquarters.......
Look at Jelly Rolls fabric by Moda or 5.5 inch strips in pre cuts on any online fabric or quilt shop. A quilt shop is best. This is one way to get a variety of prints from a collection.
This fabric appears to be Moda wishes, hope that helps
The above comment refers to the red quilt pic.sorry the blue and green quilt is Sweetwater Authentic next best thing would be Sweetwater/Moda Elementary
When I saw all the bright colors & pretty patterns, I thought to myself, this would make a cute bath mat too. Hmmm.
That sounds like a really cute idea~ especially if you made it with towels!
I do not sew! I would just love for someone to make me a quilt and I'll pay you!!!!
What size quilt? What pattern or design? I can send photos of what I've made.... June Email me at: junelynnky@Yahoo.com I just mailed my nephews large "lap" or picnic quilts. I'm on the east coast, they are on the west. Costly, hence the smaller quilts. And I just finished a wall quilt.
Great looking quilt. Easy, fun and fast. Thanks for putting on craftsy, my favorite site
I would really like to know the names of thses fabrics this is the exact colors I want
i would also like to know names of these fabrics. exact colors....
The fabric shown is Sweetheart by Riley Blake, though I think it's been discontinued.
Oops, I meant Sweetwater by Moda. I need more coffee. :)
I entered all the necessary info including my credit card info. I got the please wait sign.
I believe that someone who takes the time to create a pattern, produce it and market it, should be able to charge a fair price for all the hard work involved. If you don't like the prices, find a website that offers free patterns. Otherwise, please be considerate of those who do this for a source of income.
I agree! Her work is simply stunning, and I can't wait to try this pattern! Thanks for your comment, I am one that agreed!
Could you please tell me where I can purchased the same material for this project. thank you
I was interested in the wishes quilt <3
I was looking for the material for the wishes quilt.thanks
I am new to quilting...so this is my first quilt attempt. It is so pretty and I have been told the jelly roll is an easy pattern to start with. I bought the pattern today....but as a beginner....I have a question. How much batting do I need to buy...what size....maybe a brand you suggest. The pattern doesn't tell how much. Thanks for any help!
You purchase 100% cotton batting for quilting and cut it to the size of your quilt or slightly larger as you will trim. Warm & Natural is a wonderful brand.
I have made several out of flannel. No batting required.
I ordered this pattern 6-8-2014 .I as of now Ihave not received the download. I even set an email. And no response. Please advise as how to get my pattern. Paid Thur pay pal. Thank you..
Craftsy doesn't alert the designer when a person leaves a comment here. (kind of a bummer!) ... I was just cruising through and looking at this pattern when I saw your concern. If you bought the pattern here (through Craftsy), it will be in your library of patterns for you to access at any time. Please check your "My Craftsy" page. Hope this helps!
Wondering what size blanket this makes. Would you pattern cover a king size bed?
Pattern Details states:SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:44" x 64"
Sweetwater, which fabric was used for the other picture/example of this quilt on craftsy? It is blue, white, yellow, etc. :o)
I just purchased this pattern and I'm excited to make it...this is my first quilt... is this a good one to begin on? Instructions seem confusing.
Honestly, I'm always confused by pattern instructions. I thought it was me, but perhaps we all have the same experience. I just re-read the instructions many times, even have my DH read them so we can figure it out. I find the video classes so helpful.
I just bought this pattern and it shows in my library that I have it but I cNt seem to get it to come up says it will show in another application?
Hi-Sorry you are having trouble. Please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will help. Make sure you include your name so I can look up your order. Thanks!
Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but I am unclear on the batting for all but the first and last row. I may be reading it wrong, but is there no batting on the other rows?
Hi-Please e-mail us at email@example.com and I would be happy to help you with your question. Thanks!
Does anyone have the name of the blue pattern?
I do realize you need to make money. But by charging less, more people will buy, and in the long run, you make more. And unless I have bought your pattern, I would not be infringing on your rights as I don't know exactly how you do it. I am just saying this is an easy pattern that could be duplicated easily...not an exact replica, but close enough.
I had the same opinion, that this pattern could easily be duplicated. I showed my Mother the picture and told her how I thought it was made. Being a very experienced quilter, she disagreed with me, so I bought the pattern. I grew up seeing my Mother look at something in a store, then go home an re-create her own version of it with no pattern. She had a lot of difficulty understanding the directions for this quilt, as others have had, but for some reason I understood it easily. Perhaps because it was done exactly as I was telling her I would do it. It just made sense in my mind. For some, buying the instructions is the only way they can make something. For others, looking at patterns is more of an inspiration for their own version of something. It's a chance you take when you post your designs for sale on line. I don't mind paying a small fee for the directions to something I really want to make, but I agree with smich25451 that charging less would probably allow them to Sell More! Honestly, with a little research many of these patterns can be found in old quilt books or on-line under different names.
What is the name of the jelly roll of the colorful one.
That is Wishes by Sweetwater for Moda.
This is not downloading for me. HELP!!
You may need to change some settings on your computer. Sometimes a firewall will prevent you from downloading. If that doesn't work, e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I can help
My question is....why would you make a quilt that is only 44" wide?
Because 44" is the width of fabric. You could make it wider by adding to it across but 44 wide is good for a baby quilt, lap quilt or just a throw on the sofa.
Or add some interesting borders.
can I please get updated pattern.... email@example.com
Hello, please send me the updated version too. Thanks! firstname.lastname@example.org
hmm.... Thought it was a free pattern too.
What is the finished blue quilt fabric called?
I would love to tell you- but I'm not quite sure which quilt you are talking about. If you can let me know the name of the quilt, I will tell you the fabric collection. Thanks!
Love this!! Thank you for sharring
I thought this pattern was free today?
I'm not sure where you heard that, but the pattern is not free.
I thought so also.
Well I guess ALL of us are wrong??? Funny how so many of us got the wrong impression???!!! Something is not right here!
Yep, something is wrong here...
It says FREE on Facebook..
Yes it does!
It didn't say free anywhere. The post says "PATTERNS ALL DAY: The easiest thing to do with a jelly roll! No quilting required- you quilt as you sew both the front and the back together. Support the designer, who gets 100% of the proceeds when you buy this pattern"
Sorry, just realized I posted to an old thread.
I just purchased this. Is there no backing to this. I thinking you are doubling the strips with the batting between them
There is no backing- the jelly rolls make the front and the back.
Yes and the pattern tells you about the backing.
I just purchased the pattern, and I'm not a beginner. But, I can't figure out what your meaning is, when it comes to putting the strips together into one piece.
Please e-mail us at email@example.com and we can help.
what is the name of the jelly roll used? also what size will 2 jelly rolls make? would like to know right away please...need to get started...thank u so much!
Moda Jelly Rolls looks like to me. They have several different ones this looks to be pot luck.
2 jelly rolls makes a queen
2 Jelly Rolls will not make a queen. The finished size using 2 jelly rolls is 44" x 64". However, you can make it as long as you wish by adding more jelly rolls. The width will always be 44".
The Jelly Roll shown is called "Wishes" by Sweetwater for Moda.
can I get the pattern please this is just whim looking for... thank you.... firstname.lastname@example.org
We have had a lot of comments on this pattern today. To clear some things up, this is not a free pattern. We updated the pattern weeks ago only to clarify one step, and added a diagram. If you purchased the original pattern, there is nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't include the one diagram. If you purchased the pattern recently, you have the updated version. If you purchased it more than a month ago, and have a question, let us know.To purchase and download the pattern, visit our pattern shop on Craftsy. Hopefully this clears everything up!
I don't think anyone needs the pattern. Look at it: Easy as pie! Just buy a jelly roll, cut in equal lengths, sew long sides together. Quilt. Easy as pie! :o)
Actually I don't believe that is correct. The jelly roll length-wise edges look like raw edges to me.
looks like instead of putting right sides together to sew a 1/4 inch seam, the seam on this one looks as if it is sewn with wrong sides together so seam is on front side!
That is exactly what I thought
is there no backing, I am confused.
If you buy the pattern it explains it all!
Buy the pattern b/c it is not a rag quilt and is not that easy to figure out just from looking at it! I'm a beginner and glad I bought it the than winging it.
Rather not the

I just bought this pattern. Why is everyone asking for an updated pattern. If this one is wrong---send me the updated version.
It says above that if you just bought this (which you did) you have the updated pattern. They re-posted it awhile ago to make one addition. You have what you need I believe.
Please I would like the updated pattern firstname.lastname@example.org
Is this really a BEGINNER quilt project?? I love it but I am really a beginner and need simple projects!!
Me too! What is a jelly roll? Seriously, I don't know but I think I can do this!
jelly rolls are sold at most fabric stores. matching material already cut in 2 .5 strips. That is what most of them I seen are.
I would like the updated pattern please/thank you! email@example.com
I would also love to have this pattern firstname.lastname@example.org

It says at the top 44x64 this is NOT a queen-size quilt

Could you please tell me what size quilt this makes?I would like to make one for my son's bed at college. Thanks.
She says you can add rows to make it longer, fabric and batting.
I love this quilt. Is the batting sewed with fabric. I have RA in hands and it is hard to some things. How do I get the pattern? email@example.com
Click on the jelly roll pattern on the right> up at top it is a pattern for sale, it is not free. Updated version for those who purchased I guess is free to clarify some points. Doesn't look that complicated.
It somehow frustrates me to find so many negative quilters out there! If all the answers to your questions were answered, then why would Sweetwater design a useful pattern , list it "for sale" on both Craftsy and her online shop, on Etsy then give it away? Eat humble pie and purchase the pattern. It's fun to make, quick and quite lovely. Her idea takes quilting to a whole new level. You can sit and sew when you have 15 min, leave it and know where to pickup at a later time.
Hi leatherworkswu - Thanks so much for your nice comments! We really appreciate your support and understanding. You made our day - Thanks Again!!
I totally agree with leatherworkswu.....no one is forcing people to purchase the pattern. If you are gifted enough to figure it out, go for it, but no need to be nasty about those who wish to earn a few bucks. Keep up the good work, sweetwater3, and ignore those negative comments. Those of us with a passion for all things quilting are blessed by each other's gifts!
I also agree with leatherworkswu. There are plenty of places to find free patterns, simply this is not one of them. I fell in love with the pattern and colors of this quilt. This would make a perfect auction item. The price of this pattern is competitive with others in the market place. This is not a cheap hobby. Thank you sweetwater3 for such a pretty design.
A gift for a girl friend at her babyshower. Super easy, never used a sewing machine before, didn't take me long to figure out and tackle this. Loved it!
